JH001 Printing Guide
The JH001 College Hoodie is a market leading garment that customers purchase over and over again. The fabric allows for easy printing and the polyester percentage in the garment helps to keep the garments shape, ensuring a long-lasting print, even with frequent washing. The quality, price and colour choices for the garment are second to none. It is essential for any printer to know exactly how to print perfectly onto any fabric they use so nothing goes to waste. Lucky for us, AWDis have provided the information on a handy printing guide.
Plastisol Ink Printing Guide (Curing method: Tunnel Dryer)
The top choice on the printing guide is to use Plastisol inks. The 100% smooth ringspun cotton fabric is tightly knit which allows an even print without using too much ink. Plastisol inks allow for a huge range of colour and easy pantone matching. A top tip from AWDis is to use an anti-migration layer on those brighter bolder colours and avoid prints cracking by curing at the correct temperature and time. Remember, always test print and cure.
Waterbase Ink Printing Guide (Curing method: Tunnel Dryer)
Water based inks give our customers a great eco-friendly alternative on our printing guide. The ink will seep into the natural fibre of the yarn which leaves a super soft print. Using lighter colours with this type of printing helps to keep the soft hand feel, however, using a pre-base helps print on darker colours will help achieve a good print. Try to work quickly and accurately as water-based inks can dry out quickly.
Discharge Printing Guide (Curing method: Tunnel Dryer)
The final printing method on the printing guide is discharge printing. Natural fibres are key with this type of print which is why the JH001 fabric works so well. It is important to monitor the temperature through the day as the polyester content can burn If the temperature gets too high. AWDis advise to avoid Kelly Greens, Royal Blues, Gold, and Purples as these don’t discharge cleanly.
