What is Discharge Printing?

Coming into 2026, we can expect to see an increase in discharge printing with the market expected to grow by 4.3% from 2021 to 2026. This growth is driven by increase in demand for sustainable and eco-friendly textiles and the importance of sustainability amongst consumers. Discharge printing is a method of textile printing that involves the removal of the first dyed solid colour on the garment using a chemical agent to create a design. A new colour can then be used to replace the colour that was removed. This method of printing is mostly used on 100% cotton and performs equally well on light and dark garments. Benefits of Discharge Printing
